If you'd like to write for us, send us an email with the article you'd like to see on the site. If we like it, we'll publish it; you might even win a pineapple and qualify for a 12 pack of Miller High Life! Instead of paying our writers, we’re going to give them a chance to win a delicious exotic trophy! Every week we’ll choose the best article and present this glorious tropical crop to our winner. If you win you’ll have your picture posted on our site and you’ll qualify to win some beer at the end of the month. Ya dig? The Independent is in a unique position to offer students an outlet for whatever kind of writing they're interested in without risk of being turned down for lack of a specific voice or style or being censored or recklessly edited.  We want writers for lots of topics, but specifically for anything related to culture, both locally and beyond. That means fashion, film, cars, clubs, music, museums and everything in between. Plus, you'll have a new source for collecting clips to go in your portfolio.
